Poster Session

Posters should be mounted on Tuesday, October 27 (afternoon). An announcement will be made when the boards are ready. Posters will remain on display until Thursday, October 29 (15:30, afternoon coffee break), by which time we ask all presenters to remove their posters so they can attend the closing session at 16:00.

Poster Session/Reception Time and Venue

Oct 28 (Wed), 18:00-20:30, Mt Benson Ballroom C & D
Poster presenters are expected to be available near their posters to answer questions for at least one hour 18:30-19:30 during the poster session.

Poster Format

The max size of a poster (PORTRAIT orientation) is
48 inches (120 cm) vertical height x 36 inches (90 cm) horizontal width.
Please add your photograph to the right upper corner of your poster.

Absentee Presenters (QR Poster Format)

If you CANNOT attend in person and NO ONE can present your poster on your behalf, but you still want your poster to be presented, you can upload your poster in a digital (pdf or jpeg) format, so we can create a QR code for it. With this option, participants can view your poster on their mobile phones mobile devices and send their questions directly to you (via email or through the Whova App). Access to the Whova app. will be available for three months after the meeting ends. Additionally, with your permission, we can post your poster on the meeting website after the meeting ends. Please note that an absentee presenter fee is required for the QR POSTER presentation.

Poster Printing Option 1: Staples

Staples is one of the convenient options for non-commercial poster printing in Nanaimo. The nearest Staples is not within walking distance of the Vancouver Island Conference Centre (VICC), unless you do not mind a 5 km walk each way.

Poster Printing Option 2: VI Print Services

VI Print Services is another convenient option for non-commercial poster printing in Nanaimo. VI Print Services is within a 5-10 min walking distance of the Vancouver Island Conference Centre (VICC).

Most posters can be printed within 2 business days. Preferred is 3-4 business days.
VI Print Services can also print flyers, handouts - same time frame.
How to Order a Poster for Printing at VI Print Services
  1. Email your poster specifying the size at viprintservices@gmail.com. VI Print Services will reply with a quote. Payment is required via credit card or etransfer (for those in Canada).

  2. Format: Poster should have no bleeds or crop marks; a pdf or Hi-res jpeg in the exact size.

  3. The large format printing is on 54" W paper rolls (full print area is appx 48-52"W), so smaller items need to be bundled together or may be charged full width.
